first hutch

This hutch was designed and built by Gary. It was sold at a craft fair last fall. Later, we got an order for just the bottom half, which I built. Unfortunately, the lady who ordered it never called us back when it was done, so it is still in our possession.
A few nicks and scratches have been spontaneously put on the unit as it was sitting in the wall next to our dining room for the past 6 months. It worked great for holding Jessica's coloring books, crayons, etc.. Right now it is on display for our upcoming open house.

Across the Grain

I might not know much about politics, but I do take a certain pride in my country, and I thank God for giving us so much freedom.
World opinion might occasionally cause our nation to hesitate against a course of action that we might feel is prudent, but it will not stop us from marching to the beat of our own drum; and at the end of the day, we sing our own tune.
Whether or not our leaders always make the right decisions is not the issue. The issue is that we still are a sovereign nation and we should not take that for granted.
The flag in this photo was I believe given away last Christmas at our Yankee Swap. It was built from pallet boards, (hardwoods). We have sold several others of various sizes and appearances at craft shows, and we still have one that is very similar to the one in the picture. I am currently at work on a couple of different ideas for flags. The current ones actually have the stripes going with the grain. Hey, there is a time for that too!
God Bless America.

Shutter shelves

These shutter shelves have been a popular item whenever we went to craft fairs last year. (We haven't done any this year, but we are about to have an open house.)

This white one was the first one I ever made. Since then I have built black, green, and white, and blue. I prefer to go with the original color of the shutters, to prevent too much painting etc..

Currently, we have one black one finished, and I just began working on two more black ones today.

Boat Shelf

I built a couple of these boat book shelves last fall. I sold one of them to a family friend, but I still have this one shown in the photo.

It's a little different from what we normally make at Mainely Primitives, but since we live right on the coast, I thought it would be cool to have a little section for coastal type stuff...
